If you love sweet, sentimental details and cozy designs, this one is for you! Katie reached out to me last fall with an idea to combine her thriving, Waco-based real estate business with a down-to-earth lifestyle blog, covering relevant topics such as: Design + Decor, Hospitality, Motherhood, Marriage, and the like. Needless to say, I was SO excited to help and even more excited when she brought on my friend Chelsea of 23&9 Creative to design her website!
As a new mom, a loving wife, a hilarious friend, and a hardworking professional, Katie understands what it’s like to balance multiple responsibilities and desired to create an outlet for those around her to reference and enjoy. She’s the kind of person who’s immediately everyone’s bestie, and never shies away from offering her direct opinion when asked. She’s the truth-telling, courageous gal you always want on her side, and for her brand design, we gravitated towards adjectives like fresh, feminine, bold, and clean to appeal to her audience. Of course, with her real estate + home brand based in Waco, we wanted to make sure her aesthetic looked completely different from major competitor, Magnolia Home. We also looked to a color palette with a balance of bold and soft, and the soothing nature of blue paired with a zesty coral was the perfect fit.
For her logo design, a soft and relaxed script was a no brainer. It’s feminine, approachable, and down-to-earth, portraying the realness Katie brings to her brand. The window pane, in particular, is one of my all-time favorite details and stems from a story Katie shared about her best friend. After giving birth to her daughter, Katie’s thoughtful friend surprised her with a weekly flower arrangement so Stella would always grow up surrounded by fresh flowers. Is that not the kindest thing you’ve ever heard? I sure hope my besties are reading and taking notes ;)
Her brand patterns bring a certain splash of playfulness and lightheartedness to the brand. The confetti is clean, yet celebratory, and made the most adorable appearance on her brand stationery! In order to bring in a touch of her Kelly Green hue, I also designed a clean lined star pattern as a subtle nod to her daughter, Stella’s, name.
As an additional brand enhancement, Katie opted for a set of custom icons to represent various categories and services on her site. My personal favorites are the kitchen spoon + whisk and the floral arrangements using the same blooms from her windowpane.
This brand was SUCH a pleasure to design, and I am delighted to share the beautiful site Chelsea created for Katie! It’s the perfect online home (and can we talk about her adorable brand photoshoot, too?! SO CUTE!). Congratulations, Katie! Cheers to a brand new adventure!
